Barna Woods : A series of pictures taken in Barna Woods on the morning of 25th October 2009. Barna Woods is a great natural resource on the west of Galway City - a beech wood located about 10 minutes drive from Salthill, and only a minute or so from Silver Strand.

manhattan : Most of these pictures were taken in the first week of February 2008 in Manhattan. It was my first visit and I could not have asked for more - decent weather, Super Tuesday and the small matter of New York winning the Superbowl. There are also some monochrome infrared images taken in October 2008.

University of Limerick : The University of Limerick is my alma mater - it was called the NIHEL back then (National Institute of Higher Education Limerick). It became a full university in 1989 which was just in time for me to get a 'proper' degree in 1990. The college was founded in 1972 and when I was there (1986 - 1990), it has about 4,000 students all told. There are now about 11,000 students, and the campus has changed beyond all recognition. Even when I was there, the college began building student villages - the first one was built just outside the front gates and had a fiber-optic link to the college's computer network (this was long before home broadband or even the internet as a consumer product). Now, there are a large number of villages scattered across the campus, with accommodation for nearly 2,500 students.
