Galway >   > Galway City > Salthill Promenade, Galway
A series of pictures taken by the Blackrock diving board at the end of the promenade in Salthill in Galway. The first nine pictures were taken just after the moon had risen over Galway Bay one evening in September 2007, the second page of pictures were taken at dawn one morning during October 2007 and the pcitures on pages 3 & 4 were taken at sunrise in October 2008.

The reason there are multiple versions of some images in the gallery is because those images are available with and without white border (and in some cases, 2 different sized border).

When you click on the "buy" icon, you will see all available sizes for that image. For any image, the price of the "Gloss" and "Matt" finish is the same, and "Lustre" is more expensive (it is more expensive to print).

The copyright notice does not appear on the final print.

If you have any questions on a particular image, just leave a comment under the image and I will answer it for you.

Video footage, filmed with a Canon G9 compact camera, of wild weather on Salthill Promenade on the night of March 11, 2008. Despite the spray from waves crashing onto the Prom, there were a few hardly souls braving the spray, bitterly-cold wind, and latterly, hail and sleet, to 'enjoy' the elements. Most people just watched it from inside their cars.

I had begun filming this clip on the offchance that, if a wave came over the wall and splashed the walker and her dog, it might give, ahem, a focal point to the scene. Except the next wave didn't hit the walker, did it?
Keep an eye on the position of the large bin at the start of the clip.
