The stately home in Portumna no longer stands, but luckily, the magnificent stand of beech trees still remain. Most of Portumna Forest Park consists of conifers apart from this copse of broadleaf trees. This park is one of the few places that you'll see red squirrels, and a family of native red deer are bred in an enclosure at the park entrance.
