  > This picture isn't infrared - just monochrome. Even the original colour version was almost entirely composed of shades of grey, and the large rocks - worn smooth from the action of the sea - had a rather beguiling mottled pattern caused by the damp drying irregularly on the rock surface.

  > A view of Galway Cathedral looking from near the courthouse - Salmon Weir bridge is on the left. The water channel in the foreground is an old millrace (the same millrace seen in this picture), behind it is the river Corrib.
  > Once upon a time, this waterway (on the right of the picture)was the source for a privately owned water supply in the city - the ruins of the pumphouse used to to be located near where the apartment building now stands. Actually, I took pictures of the pumphouse back in 1990 but I don't think those pictures have survived. Over the railing on the left of the picture flows the River Corrib.
This walkway links William O'Brien Bridge and Wolfe Tone Bridge in the city.
